This cable works as expected and is exactly what I needed. The twelve inch length allowed the cable to have sufficient slack so that the cable did not pull on the connectors.
One thing to be aware of is the model number. This model is SATA12LA1. There is another model that "looks" the same with model number SATA12RA1. The difference is the 7th character which stands for (L)eft or (R)ight. Make sure you get the correct one as the wrong one will likely not work in your computer.
There are other cables on Amazon that do not indicate Left or Right. I would stay away from these cables.
