Tripp Lite Lite SCSI-2 Cable S366-006 CablesTripp Lite S366-006 SCSI II Cable HD50M/M - 6ft Review
I ordered this cable because the price can't be beat and a true Ultra-SCSI-II (or Fast-20 SCSI-II that's 8 bit not 16 bit Wide) cable with HD50M/M is a little hard to come by. But the picture is really strange. The thumbscrews are common on a HD68M but not the HD50M. I zoomed in and counted the pins and it does appear to be a HD50M connector, but if it has thumbscrews instead of "squeeze to release" latches it may not fit my equipment. Certainly it won't be able to secure itself on either side. All of my SCSI-II equipment uses "squeeze to release" latches. I am connecting a Adaptec AHA-2930CU to a Fujitsu fi-4220c scanner.Either way it will not be worth returning. Shipping has four more days to deliver, so I'm waiting. I'll update my review after it arrives if Amazon allows updating. Even more puzzling, Tripp Lite's site has a picture of the same cable by part number with Squeeze Latches. Tripp Lite SCSI-2 Cable I'll definitely post a picture once I receive the cable to dispel any ambiguity.
Of note, this is a 6 ft cable, meaning at Fast-20 speeds only 4 devices total - including the host adapter on cable are supported, any more than 4 devices is not suppose to work. To get 8 devices to work at that speed, your suppose to not use a cable over 1.5 m or about 4 ft. The specs and charts are rather obscure about that.
