I use this cable to connect my optical drive to my Dell XPS 15 Laptop. I removed the optical drive to use the space for a Solid State Drive, but I still wanted to be able to use the optical drive. The great thing about this cable is that I can use it both for my Hard Drive Caddy and my Optical Drive - whichever I prefer to have outside of my computer.
