I bought this cable because the eSATA port on my Lenovo ThinkPad T410 laptop was not powered (eSATAp). Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until after I had purchased a Seagate GoFlex drive and the STAE103 eSATA cable adapter. The Micro Sata Cable adapter goes between the T410 eSATA port & a USB port, and the GoFlex powered eSATA STAE103 cable connected to the GoFlex drive. Works great. The drive is now powered & seen by Win7. I have already performed a disk image & backup using the Win7 Backup utility.
