This cable ACTS like the right one... it fits the camera and fits a USB socket on the other end, but the charge light flashes a fast green pattern and the camera does not charge at all. This is a serious bummer, since I assumed my battery was bad and replaced IT as well, only to have the same result - the camera acted like it was charging but it wasn't. Twice I had brought this cable on trips (Hawaii and Italy), and got stranded without a camera both times.

Get the right cable from Nikon or use the original. Save some heartache.
