I don't understand why ALL SATA cables don't have clips! The connectors are so wimpy, I consider clips necessary. If you suffer from slow or stalled bootups, or weird partial lockups, and windows that won't disappear, etc., check your event viewer for hard drive controller-related errors, especially timeouts. You can try snugging up your cables, but eventually get these cables for a permanent end to such problems.

My mistake was not buying two of them initially when I'd identified this problem with my hard drive, because the same issues started showing up with my DVD drive. Now that both my SATA drives are equipped with these cables I have no more of these problems.
