The device has difficulty maintaining a steady connection and keeps connecting/disconnecting. Tried two 7200 rpm drives and two SSDs. Will look into returning the item. Another possible culprit is a bad USB 3.0 cable. Will see if can find a cheap one locally to try.

Update:

Tried a different USB 3.0 A-B cable and now it's stable in Windows 7. Changed rating from 1 to 3 stars. Performance is a little under the Oyen MiniPro enclosure, which uses the oxford 3100 chip.
