Pins in the white (Molex?) connector are not firmly held; they wobble around and are difficult to align with the mating part. Also, the pins were too thin to make firm contact until I expanded them slightly with an awl. Although of low quality, this connector probably would work; however, I discovered that I didn't need it -- my hard drive already had the appropriate power connector.
