I got this cable for my Alienware X51 R2 with the Intel H87 Express Chipset. I used it to install a Samsung 840 PRO Series 512 GB solid state drive.

Here are the reasons for my five-star rating:

1) The read/write speeds are off the charts at 558/524 MB per second. Windows 8 says the negotiating speed is 6 Gb per second, which is SATA 3.
2) The BIOS/UEFI detects the drive without a hitch, which has allowed me to use it as a boot drive.
3) The cable length is 10 inches (as advertised). That length is about perfect for the small X51 case.
4) The flange snaps snugly into place on the drive. It has not gotten disconnected so far.

I highly recommend this cable.
