I'm using this lil unit out of a Dell Precision M4300 on a USB2.0 port. Weirdly, it works great! I was expecting some lag, some sort of visual issues but no, it installed easily and off it goes, running my second screen at full spec through HDMI.

The only thing I had a small problem with is that it seems to only work on the USB port I installed it on, so no swapping to another port. Luckily I picked the right port the first time. As I said, small problem but something to plan for possibly?

There's some heavy processing to run this thing and I had already upgraded to the highest "Core-Duo2 Extreme" (and RAM) the unit can handle, so I can't tell you how well it would do on your stock proc., but assume you need to be punching around Dual Core 2.8GHz or above to not take a significant hit in the CPU.

Final Analysis: I like it and I'd buy it again.
